China

China has very strict policies when it comes to internet censorship. It might be referred to as the Great Firewall of China.
"The Chinese government believes in the notion of cyber sovereignty." Services like Google, Instagram, BBC, Twitter, Snapchat,
Spotify, Facebook, and so on are banned in China. These are services most people use every day without much hesitation. The idea
of the government controlling how the internet operates and its contents on it is scary for civilians. People might not be well
informed about the outside world. Besides, people cannot enjoy services that others can. For example, working remotely in China
without a VPN can be very difficult as many online productivity tools are not available there.
This can make it harder to connect with people around the world and slow down globalization.
